The Vento Post | May 25
Our monthly pills for founders, wannabe founders and Vento’s friends.
May moved fast, and so did we.
New people, new deals, new energy. It’s been the kind of month that reminds us what momentum really feels like.
🌟 First things first: Milano, we’re coming.
We’ve just opened applications for ZeroUno 2025, a hands-on, unscripted, workshop-based event for Italy’s most promising future founders. Whether you’re already set on starting something or still figuring out what to build, this is your chance to learn from those who’ve done it before and fast-track your journey from zero to one.
We’re co-hosting the event with 2100, Italian Founders Fund, and Unruly Capital. Apply here to be part of it.
🌟 And speaking of big events:
We’ve officially opened the call for volunteers for Italian Tech Week 2025. If you want to experience Italy’s leading tech event from behind the scenes, this is your moment. Join us here.
🚀 Back to our day-to-day, May brought movement.
We welcomed Alessia to the Vento team, and she’s already making waves on Italian Tech Week.
Meanwhile, the fund’s been at full throttle: we signed 6 new investments in May!

🔮Wisdom Pills from our Network
"Be in the top 1%, and build like it."
That’s the bar Matilde Giglio, founder of Even, sets for herself, and for anyone serious about building something extraordinary.
At Italian Tech Week 2024, Matilde took the stage to share what drives her as a founder and what she’s learned from building high-performance teams at Even.
Her message was crisp and powerful: success doesn’t come from shortcuts. It comes from assembling the best, trusting deeply, and moving fast.
Here’s what stuck with us:
Aim for the 1%. Being great isn’t enough. You, and the people you hire, need to operate at the very top of your game. Excellence compounds.
Trust is the unlock. High-velocity teams aren’t just skilled. They’re trusted. When people believe in themselves and in each other, they make better decisions, faster.
Pay them well. Top talent deserves top pay. If you want excellence, you need to be ready to invest in it, without compromise.
Her advice to founders?
Hire the best. Trust them fully. And give them everything they need to win. 🚀

We're thrilled to be taking the stage in Paris at VivaTech! To celebrate, we’ve got a little something for you: use the code GRTAEH73Z2 to get a discount on any type of 4-day pass, 11-14 June 2025.
This month, Alma, Camilla’s 5-month-old daughter, stopped by the office a couple of times. On one of those visits, she met Nina, the 10-month-old daughter of our Vento friends. It was their very first "playdate" (mostly curious glances and gentle pokes)… and yes, our hearts completely melted.
We had the pleasure of hosting the Fleet team for a recent Beer Tuesday. As always, Cortilia had our back, turning a fun, thought-provoking evening into a delicious one too.
Curious to try it for yourself? You can try it here.
😂 Laughed
Once upon a time, in the magical land of Public Administration, we needed access to our cassetto fiscale. Easy, right? Hah. No.
Here's how it should have gone:
Step 1: Apply online.
Step 2: Receive code.
Step 3: Live happily ever after.
But no.
The Real Saga:
We submitted an online application like good, law-abiding citizens.
Then we had to call to confirm that the online application… existed. You know, to make sure the bits and bytes didn’t vanish into the bureaucracy void.
A few days later, part one of the magical access code arrived by email. Progress!
Part two? Oh, that one had to arrive by posta raccomandata—because nothing says “digital era” like certified snail mail.
We waited. And waited. And waited.
25 days passed. Still nothing.
We called again. “Ah yes,” they said, “none of the posta raccomandata were actually sent out. And no, we can’t track them either.” (Excellent. Very confidence-inspiring.)
So we booked an appointment. The only slot? Middle of a weekday morning. Naturally.
Our hero Diyala braved the chaos and physically marched into the Agenzia delle Entrate office, armed with patience and caffeine.
Victory! The code was hers.
Plot twist:
Two days later, the long-overdue letter showed up, fashionably late and completely useless.
Moral of the story? Bureaucracy always delivers.. eventually. Just after you stop needing it.
